		<description>I know men are hesitant to do some of these things. Is it fear of not being appreciated (I can get my own door)?

I find that the reason for the above is two fold...

First, as you previously hinted at the normal response seems to be anger because we are treating them "like they can't do it themselves". Frankly this is a huge turn off for me if being curtious is likely to upset or anger them.

Second, the other end of the scale while less often seen is just as destructive to encouraging these behaviours long term. This is when they take this as a signal to walk all over you in other aspects of the relationship.

I also find that while you can often open the door for them to get in, as you can simply gurantee they can't open it without you by locking the door, they will rarely wait for you to get around to open the door for them in order to get out of the Car. For other doors it is often a question of who gets there first, while I try to make an effort to open most doors it doesn't seem appropriate to "race" a date to the door in order to open it for them.</description>
