But we could always try it again! As long as the after-parties are at restaurants (which is mostly the case since caterers aren't much for donating - know any great caterers?), we probably wouldn't do something that was a formal discussion, although we always encourage people to talk at the after-parties about the music. It would make the arrival at the restaurant way to late. But - great suggestions! Mingling more is something we always talk about at the Vivace Advisory Councils. I think there needs to be some sort of social event before the symphony or before the New Yorker (post-concert discussion). I'm biased to think it should just be for the singles. Of course I'll attend again - I'm just saying I'd attend with a friend or date, not on my own. And I'm just as guilty as the next person. Admittedly, the turnout this performance was overwhelming ... I think we had twice as many people as we did with the last one. But still ... that's no excuse. I promise I'll do better at the next event. And maybe some of the others will follow suit.
